Kocha Stewart John Hall enzi hizo akiwa na Azam FC ya Tanzania |
Stewart John Hall has
been appointed as the new coach of the Tusker Premier League side, Sofapaka FC.
The 2009 TPL Champions
dismissed coach Salim Ali a few weeks ago following a string of poor performances.
The English born
coach, who parted ways with Tanzanian Premier League side Azam FC in July 2012
on a mutual agreement, will take over the mantle from interim coach David Ouma.
Hall, whose
appointment is with immediate effect, has vast experience as a coach, having
led Azam to win the Mapinduzi Cup and featured in the recently concluded CECAFA
Kagame Cup after finishing second in the Premier League.
However, according to
Sofapaka’s President Elly Kalekwa, Hall will watch from the terraces in their
crucial league match against Tusker FC on Wednesday, to study the players
before guiding them against Ulinzi Stars FC, on Sunday.
“Hall is a coach we
have been searching for; he has a proven track record and with his vast
experience we are confident of rediscovering our winning ways,” he said.
“He’s already in the
country, but he will not be taking over immediately. We will give him time to
study the players on Wednesday-by watching against Tusker before taking charge
against Ulinzi.”
Hall becomes the
second foreign coach at “Batoto Ba Mungu” after the departure of Ugandan Coach
Sam Ssimbwa, who had a tumultuous time at the club in 2010.
Sofapaka are placed
fourth on the log two points adrift of third placed Tusker.
